Ariadne's earrings were inspired by Greek mythology, as Ariadne was the daughter of King Minos (King of Crete) and half sister of the Minotaur, she was responsible for the labyrinth where the mythic creature lived. The thread she gave to Theseus was decisive for the evolution of the myth.
